THE ARTIST
Amor Herrera has participated in multiple group and solo exhibitions across the world. Her work toys with the impossible through challenging the boundaries of time and space. By utilizing a multitude of mediums from photography, sound pieces, to kaleidoscopic visual stimuli. Her work is often a multisensory experience which affects the viewer’s sensory experience of the world.

THE RESIDENCY
Herrera’s work at BAR began with her exploration in creating a time machine. Her experimentation led her to conceive the piece Embody Unbounded, a room which induces a dream-like state to the viewers through the multi sensory flooding of visuals and sound. Herrera also worked on a series of photographic portraiture and landscapes of highly contrasted black and white images. These images perpetuate a certain anonymity and timelessness. For her models, the artist took photographs of passers by of the busy streets of Gemmayze.
