The Artist
Hilda Ekeroth is a visual artist whose recent research was focused on two distinct areas: the cultural history and apparatus of perception—in particular, stories of the present—and a reconciliation and expansion of her work in drawing and painting. Recent exhibitions include Billboard Festival Casablanca, Morocco. Based in Gotland, Sweden and works internationally in solo- and cooperative projects.
The Residency
Now is the time to say nothing is a series of drawings and paintings and a booklet, produced during Ekeroth’s residency at BAR. "Walking the city, reading literature from Lebanon and the diaspora, following local news and getting to know the local art scene; this project is my first attempt in Lebanon, of mapping through painting and drawing, in my ongoing research project on perceptions of the present and the past".
