The question that is emerging in my research is about specifying the co-existence of studio-based production and text within my practice. John Bergen in his book “Confabulations” refers to the “living creature of language” which has a female character since in its center lies what he calls a “phonetic uterus”. Words and symbols would be empty if they were not related to this uterus. I believe that my works and writing experiments stem from a personal uterus similar to what John Bergen describes in his book.

My intention is to extract from my work the magic and the poetry of fiction. I see this sample as the starting point of a new story and I would like to use it as a prompt for developing a new work during my residency period in Beirut. The work is going to be implemented both in a material and a textual way. I am planning to combine writing with producing new drawings and sculptures. What story can emerge after an intimate and tactile relationship with studio materials? My intention is to communicate the outcomes inside a social context by making the personal studio a living space for reading and reciting. I imagine fiction to be present within my work in a vocal way eventually.
