THE FILMMAKER
Ayman Nahle is a filmmaker, Cinematographer and video artist based in Lebanon. He has worked on numerous experimental, documentary and fiction films since 2007. His approach is based on an interest in combining and correlating images of the present and the sound of memory/archive through political conflicts. 

THE RESIDENCY
While at BAR Nahle developed his film < XXX> which addresses Beirut’s hippodrome. This is a landmark that perpetuates the country’s civil war history and current power structures. It served a horse race track with particular individuals still involved today. The film unfolds as a multilayered work interweaving the war’s audiovisual memory and the reconstruction process that destroyed the pre-war era only to draw parallels and reproduce similar power structures.
