About The Beirut Art Residency in partnership with Societe Generale de Banque au Liban is proud to announce the second edition of the August Show; an open call for Beirut-based artists. This opportunity offers one selected artist the chance to realize a solo exhibition at the Beirut Art Residency guided by expert curatorial advice. Proposals should be for new work or work which has not been exhibited before. Applicants will be judged on the innovative nature of their concept and its potential for realization.
Timeline - Open Call: April 27th-May 30th, 2017 - Artists Notified: June 6th, 2017 - Exhibition Dates: August 24th – September 1st, 2017
Support & Benefits - Material, production, and installation budget will be provided and discussed with the applicant on a case-by-case basis - Logistical and curatorial support from the team - Access to BAR's main studio during the month of August leading up to the exhibition
Selection Criteria - Applicant Age: 23-35 years old (preferred) - Mediums: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video, sound and other related mediums - Nationality: Lebanese or currently residing in Lebanon - Experience: Participated in at least one group show
